http://www.nascar.co...-reactions.html

How many times have we seen a teammate spin especially at Richmond to help another teammate. Didn't Menard spin to give Harvick a shot at a win there recently? I'm sure nascar won't do anything about it except to say, "Boys, have at it!" I don't know how they would penalize either MWR driver. Newmans crew could have been faster in the pits and beat out Edwards. Plus, its was ironic to me that the 14 car put on two tires and positioned himself infront of Newman. Obviously there were no team orders there with SHR.

Nascar will look more like profesional wrestling if we continue seeing more and more of these "team orders" changing the outcome of the race.

What nascar will do and should do are two different things. If this was intentional, is it any different than point shaving in a basketball or football game? If it was a team order for Bowyer to spin then the person who gave the order should be banned from the sport. Bowyer and his crew chief, who followed the direction, should be suspended for a year. That should keep anyone from fixing races again. These are the similar penalties that were handed down by the FIA to the Renault team for doing the same thing a few years ago. Nascar will do nothing as they usually do.

If I was Jeff Gordon considering his and Bowyers past, I make sure the #15 doesn't finish a race.

NASCAR is the King of fixing things that are NOT broken, and ignoring things that are visibly broken (restrictor plate racing as just 1 example).

Does this really surprise anyone??

I hope this continues to get publicity and talked about so it has to be addressed by more than us here.

Is there really any difference?

What did Logano do? He was ran his own race all night. For that matter what did Martin Truex do?

This isn't any different than when a guy at a local track gets a flat and stops to bring out the caution when he could have safely made it back to the pits. I have seen that change a championship battle and take wins away from drivers that were way out front. Really it isn't any different than when someone intentionally wrecks someone either. In all those cases it brings out a caution that could change the race.

Back in the 90's there was a year that RCR entered a 2nd car in the last race just to make sure there would be at least one car to finish behind the #3 in case something happened so he could still get the championship. I'm sure if you looked hard enough you will find things like this all the way back to the beginning of racing at every level.

If your going to demonize MWR for it, then you had better add Childress and every other driver and team that has ever intentionally drawn a yellow.

Logano was pretty much just a pawn that happened to be in the right place to be used which is why he is in “Shoeless’s” spot. Joe claimed his innocence to the end and his stats show he probably played his best game. However Logano was not on the same team as so he really probably doesn’t fit. I’ll give you that.

As far as the rest, I say the shoe fits.

So you can crash someone on purpose, putting their life in danger and NOT be suspended...but you can't spin out hitting no one.

If NASCAR does nothing about a team manipulating a finish now, whats next?

Let's say JJ is ahead by 4 points going into Homestead over Kenseth.

What's stopping Hendrick from having its teams (including satellites) to just wreck Kenseth from the drop of the green? Nothing.

IMO it was fairly easy to prove intent on the part of MWR. If they did nothing about it, they are just giving the big teams free reign to basically put additional cars in their pocket if they need a timely yellow, or a crash.

And I think they should penalize all of those driver's who stop to bring out cautions on purpose, too.

And my personal opinion is that when Bowyer's CC asked if "His arm itched," that was the signal to loop the car.

Here I fixed the poster so it's more fitting.

Posted Image

NASCAR had to do something here to curtail the fixing of races. Good to see they stepped up.

Now I guess it's up to the drivers to go the extra mile that NASCAR was unwilling to go and penalize Bowyer. Gordon needs to knock Bowyer out of contention just like he did to him.

Let's be realistic here.

To me, the only face that truly deserves to be in that poster is Michael Waltrip. Isn't he the boss of ALL those faces? And just who do you think made the final decision to do something like this?? It wasn't a driver, and it wasn't a crew chief. It was the owner sending out marching orders to his teams. It took the actions of more than one person to pull this off (even though it ended up not working), but it only took one person to tell them all to do it. I'm sorry, but the brunt of all these penalties should be enforced upon the owner. He shouldn't be allowed in the garage, or even on speedway property. Take away his right to be a TV anaylist for NASCAR, maybe that would teach him......something.

These actions take away any bit of integrity, trust, and ethicalness that Michael Waltrip may have had before Saturday. I have no respect for someone who tries to minipulate the system for your own financial gain. I think the losses he will suffer from this will be even greater in the future.
