Hi everyone, we are having a trial run of a live chat here at MSTRC!

In the navigation bar next to the Gallery link you will see a link "Live Chat"

Please log in and try it out.

Any problems, etc please post here so we can research it.

Please keep in mind that this chat is the free version so there may be a user limitation.

If this turns out to be something we want a few of us have offered to pitch in to pay for the full version of the chat software!

How many r gonna be able to get in the room? It would be an added extra , to be able to maximize the chat window. But it seems to be working great.

If it becomes a popular feature, a couple of us will chip in to buy the full version for the site.

Clicked on the Live Chat thingy, it started up and said Welcome.

Now, what do I do next?

Given that I have never used a chat room.

Another type of technology for an old hippe to try to use.

Life is getting too complicated.

But, I gotta give it a try.

have a good day,

schinde

Matt,
At the bottom of the chat window, you'll see a row of character icons. While those will have some options, they are not needed just to chat. Immediately below those icons, there is a typing line. Type your message in it and hit ENTER. If there is some one in the room you want to talk with privately, double click on their name and it brings up an additional window. No one else but you and that person can see that conversation. I hope that helps!

When I click on the chat link an error comes up says that explorer stoped it from installing some activeX control.
then when I click on that error and tell it to install it I get another error that says it blocked it because explorer couldn't verify the publisher.

Does anyone have any recomendations on what I should do?

Thanks.

OK... I'm not up on IE cause I don't use it unless forced to do so by inept web engineers but here is a shot... what version of IE are you using? Gates is working over time trying to run other browsers out of business and you may have to have the latest in version 7.
