With the move of the site we will be implementing some member levels here at MSTRC.

*** Please be patient, this is a work in progress ***

*** Click Images to see members in each group ***

This member group will be newly registered members, after they reach 50 post they will progress to the next level (Using the move over faster posters coming flag)

This is the regular member user group. After a new member reaches 500 post they will be advanced to a senior member. (Using the Yellow Flag because though they are moving along they are not at full green)

After 500 post a member will then join the ranks of a senior member. (Use of the green flag, poster is "on the go")

Appointed/Earned Levels

This is a member that is a moderator of just one or more specific forums. They are to help moderate their own forums either alone or with a co-moderator. They only have moderator powers in their own forums. (Use of the Red flag to stop problems)

This is a member who is in charge of moderating every forum and to assist moderators in individual forums. (The use of the black flag is to remove problems)

This member is to help with the administrative decisions for the site and to also help with moderating forums. They are also in charge of member discipline when needed.

This member is an admin of the whole site, their main jobs are to run the forums as a whole. There are admins that will have specific duties, such as server issues, management of the forums, etc.

All members are currently set as a new member. If you have more than 50 post, once you post one time, you will be moved to Member. If you have more than 500 post, once you post a second time you will then go from member to Senior Member.

The good thing about member levels is in the future we can determine more perks and private forums for each member group.

It also gives us a great look at who is active and who is not. icon_biggrin.gif

Transition seems to have worked out very well. Thanks V for taking this torch to the next level and Thank You Lin for getting us to this point along with the Flounder.

By the way, I should be a Sr. Member like the rest of the old farts.

I am glad the site made the move intact and very quickly. It was up and responding within an hour and that was great, especially for those of you who are addicted!

Jamie did about 99.9% of all the work on the site move and a few other things that are in the works. He began the prep to move well over a week ago so when it came to pulling the switch, it was over and done smoothly and quickly. Chuck and I are grateful for the work he has done both on this situation and for me with other projects that will soon open.

We are also thankful for the always reliable services Lin provided for several years. When you stop to add up the expenses he incurred while hosting the site, it would boggle the mind. It is hard to find sponsors who can offer up services like those given to the club the past couple years.

I've gotten a number of notes from many of you and I thank you. You'll see a few more changes as we have time to talk but the heart and soul of MSTRC will never change.

the member levels aren't exactly working perfect. If it goes by numbers of posts it is a little off.

Jamie is working on it and a couple other situations. It will settle out and down soon.

How about a Yahoo level for those of us that have been here that long?

I would like to thank Lindy for all he did for the club. Also, thanks to V and James for the switch and slightly new direction. I think things will be a lot better around here.

First I'll say.........the move seemed painless at least for us, I never noticed a thing!

Second.......what gives with the "New Member" banner that I've got, I would think 2,300 + posts would make me a "SR. Member". Hell, anyone that's been here since the Yahoo days should earn a titaniun lugnut! biggrin.gif

Third........great job and thanks to the V man for taking this on and to Jamie Prevo for his work as well.

@@@EDIT@@@ I'm an idiot! I should have read James' explanation earlier in this thread. Disregard question #2!!! wedgie.gif

So if I have over 500 posts I should be a senior member right?

Nevermind it changed from member to senior member after I made this post.
