My prediction, only because Matt picked the wrong time and was way to obvious and flagrantly lying on camera. Suspended the rest of the chase, on probation for a year and him, crew chief and owner fined big bucks and points. Joey will get probation and maybe a little something else, not sure what at most. Dollar General AND Toyota dump the sponsorship for Matt...not saying I agree, just another nail in the coffin..

Why would Joey get on probation?

WWDD?

What would Dale Earnhardt Senior have done if he had been the one in the 20 car (with a 3 on the side, of course)?

What would sr. Have done if he would have been in the 22 car at Kansas after he got blocked several times and scraped the wall. Same thing Joey did and same thing most racers would do

I wonder if nascar will make some exception to admit Lagano to the championship round if he can't win or point his way in after getting taken out? They are probably hoping he wins at texas and it won't be an issue.

If that would happen they should run races weekdays between 1 abd 5 pm like the other soap operas

Allowing someone IN the chase is one thing, giving them a free ticket to the Championship race is another.

Joey has 2 races to make up the points difference, or win one of the two. He isn't out of anything like Matt was after their altercation in Kansas.

I get this, all of it. I don't blame Lagano for how he raced Matt at Kansas, and even though I don't like the fact that a driver 10 laps down takes out the leader, I totally understand why Matt did what he did at Martinsville. I don't think either driver did anything that almost any other driver out there would do in THOSE situations. I just wish Matt would have been racing for the lead when he took out Joey.

The culprit here is NASCAR. They are the ones that allowed this to escalate to the point that Matt felt it necessary to do what he did. You can't have your cake and eat it too. You can't say, "Have at it boys", and then not penalize, warn, or fine anyone for actions detrimental to the sport, then take action once someone has really "had at it", and crossed the invisible NASCAR line that no one can see. As any driver out there knows, there is a code that you guys live and die by. I've heard y'all say it a million times. "I drive YOU, like you drive ME". NASCAR can't try and take away that code after the fact, or EVER for that matter.

This is nothing new. These type of situation have been going on from the top of the racing ladder, right down to every local short track, every since the first moonshine runner found out he had competition. It is how the drivers, and racing sanctioning bodies, decide to handle it that gets us all fired up!!!

If Logano were to get a special wave into the chase final, then shouldn't Kenseth get the same wave considering Logano took away his chance when he was four laps away from continuing in the chase.
Thanks,
Dennis

NASCAR has turned the championship into a circus that is more like WWF wrestling than it is the "Premiere" stock car racing series. It's become more like a demolition derby that a stock car championship.

In the long run, I think this will create even more empty seats in the grandstands, and reduce the sponsor interest in the sport.
