Bruton Smith polled the fans and they wanted Bristol to be one groove again. I liked the new multi groove Bristol because they didn't have to (but could) blow the chrome horn to get by. Now they shaved the track to make it a bottom feed fest again. Chrome horns, here we come! I think this move was nuts. I predict that it won't improve attendance beyond this next race.

Old in my opinion.

Classic. I could watch that over and over again. I remember being a kid, mad that my driver Mark Martin got caught up in that junk. I hated Earnhardt at the time, either you loved him or hated him... Now I miss him, lol. Man what a show!

There wasn't much going on when they did the reconfiguration. Hopefully now they have to go back to the chrome horn.

I wonder how many times Labonte though of how he could have won that race by doing things defensively. He'd been better off to stay under iron head or if he would have stuffed it into that corner harder and not gave Earnhardt the chance to dump him.

I like the new Bristol better. Real racing without crashing people. The video is classic earnhardt. Labonte never touched him until earnhardt ran into him. It doesn't take talent to crash someone only to pass and video shows that.

I don't dispute any of that... But it was exciting. I don't like spinning someone out, but I do not mind moving someone out of the way. It makes for a great show and a little harder racing.

I voted for the recent Bristol. It does seem that a LOT of fans like the one groove "chrome horn" type of racing. I for one have maintained and paid the bills on a race car and do not enjoy watching them get torn up. I love the "shorter" NASCAR tracks like Bristol and Martinsville, but I like to see passing without crashing on them.

Yeah, what he said.

I watched the last 20 laps of the truck race and it is not the old bristol. on the old bristol they had to get the left side tires down on the black top to get good bite getting off the corners. Sadler short pitted for track position and led the last 150 laps to win there for the wood bros.

I Would suggest Elliottt Sadler talk to Scott Speed about running Stenhouse for a championship remember the ARCA championship about 4 or 5 years ago at Toledo

it doesn't look anything like the old bristol. I wonder if he sold enough extra tickets to pay for the grinding? I guess it made us watch for a while. I'm glad I went to tri-city last night instead of watching the n-wide race.

It don't surprise me we're a 50 50 split on this. But we don't seem to get what John Q Regular fan wants to see most of the time. If we did, the sport might not be in so much trouble. I watched the spring races and I thought they were great. Shows what I know.

Going with your point about John Q public wants, someone should peice together some otherwise used up chassis's and put on a little "side show". these rolling junk cars that look cosmetically sound could be dumped and spun by the actual racers. I really shouldn't think out loud.
