    GREAT Solutions Dick!!!!

The thread was intended for members to suggest solutions to HELP local short track racing. The whole idea of the column was to try and bring new people into our sport. The youth. I've done that, and I still do it today. What are your ideas to help make our sport better.

The thread was NOT made for you to point out every thing you dislike, or to highlight a tracks bad night. It was not made to say you don't know anything about racing, that is just how you choose to read into it.

The column was wrote, and posted here to try and suggest SOLUTIONS to all the things you complain about. You think your the only one who sees the negative things happen at our tracks?? We all see it, it sucks, our sport is failing and it has been for numerous years now. But coming on here and JUST bitching and complaining about everything does NO ONE any good. If you could maybe find a way to turn all that negative energy into possible solutions and do things that actually HELP our sport, well, that would be just awesome.

It's easy to complain, it's much harder to try to be part of the solution.

They want to make the rules "inclusive and not exclusive" what a welcome thought. That seems to be a missing idea on the west side tracks.

It's not just a west side thing Doug, the spirit of this idea has been missing all over the country, and it's nothing new. You would think, in this day and age, that we have gotten to a place where all of our surviving tracks would know how important it is to work together for the greater good of our suffering sport. Now not every track is guilty of this, but it happens more often than not.

I get that promoters see other tracks as their competition, but in the reality of today's competition for your entertainment dollar, that's just not 100% true. Tracks working together can make each other stronger by working together, as opposed to doing things that directly conflict with another tracks marketing strategy. For over 40 years, I've watched 2 tracks 8 miles from each other fight tooth and nail to try and be better than the other one. When all the while this is going on, if they would of REALLY tried to work together, each would be stronger and more viable in the local racing market today. We all have our thoughts and stories on this one.

I wish Birch Run Speedway all the luck in the world, and I hope everything goes as planned, but be attentive, it takes 2 to tangle, AND 2 to work together.

Oh was it the Indy 500??? Maybe I just wasn't paying good enough attention. Seeing her compete in the Indy 500 sounds better to me.

What do y'all think?? I'd love to see her in a full time Indy car ride for next season.

There is a part of me that is sad that she's not going to be racing in NASCAR full time anymore.

I wish she could have found a way to win at least 1 race, I think that would of helped females even more in gaining racing opportunities in NASCAR.

But let's not kid ourselves, she was in quality equipment, and only ever got close once or twice to victory. I know how hard it is to win, I just wish she could have at least won once.

She said she's racing the Daytona 500, and Brickyard 400. That kinda surprised me. I would of thought that she may try and find an Indy car ride again. That's where she performed her best, and that style of driving and racecar seemed to suit her better. But what do I know??

Good luck to Danica whatever she may choose to do.

Sorry to chime in on Mr. Muarer's rant. I can't believe that you put up with his crap. I will never give him any special treatment at any track I ever work. He's a bully and lives to intimidate. If it were me, it would be tough to not take personal after all of the stuff that you ahve overlooked with him! I hope that MSPA would balck-ball him. However, they ...
