I will start out the nominations. Dan Gokee has not been able to work/race since the first of September due to torn/bulging discs at L4/L5. He does have insurance to cover his treatment or most of it but he has no income right now due to not working at his job in a body shop. He sees a surgeon today but it still will be several weeks after surgery if needed before he can return to work.
Dan is a past champion at Owosso Speedway, has raced there many years, also has raced other area tracks. His family has been racing since 1955 all over Michigan.
He also suffered the loss of his mother Tina and had the burden of the cost of her funeral.

I think Dan Gokee would be a great candidate for this wonderful fundraising event that we have been doing for 13 years!

Bringing this back to the top again! One nomination in the past week and change is kind of silly. This isn't up to the ones that put on the tournament,it is up to the entire racing family to show us who is in need!

Nominations are open until November 15th! So far one nomination in one month and it really has me scratching my head! I know I don't post on here much anymore, but it is disheartening to see the lack of interest. Come the day of the tournament we are thankful for all that come out,but we would like to see chatter on here like it was a few years ago.

Any ideas or suggestions??

The benefactors for this year's tournament have been decided! First is the family of Jayson Leisentritt who passed away as a result of an automobile accident December 6th last year. Jayson worked at TCMS since it's re-opening in 2011 and left behind a fiancee and three children. Seond is Dan Gokee who races in the Pure Stock class at Owosso Speedway. Dan has been off work for quite some time with a back injury that required surgery,as well as his mom's passing earlier in the year.

I know everyone will be busy between now and Christmas, but please take the time to help promote the event! We would like to thank all that have stepped up so far and for those that are thinking about it,ask anyone who has attended or benefited from our bowling tournament how much fun they've had and you will see it is well worth it to be there to either bowl or bench race and listen to some great music!
