A beautiful late spring Saturday night gave an excellent setting for racing at Crystal Motor Speedway. Over 135 cars were in the pits to compete in front of a friendly crowd.

The Hiram's Lightning Sprints were on hand and got feature racing off and running. Bill Dunham of Belevue took the win from his eighth-place starting position over Tom Hunt, Ithaca, Bud Schrader, Benzonia, Lindsey Erickson, South Boardman, and Rusty Havens. Dunham and Brendon Cascadden took heat events.

In the KFC Late Model feature, Ryan VanderVeen of Six Lakes got out front about a third of the way in the feature and set sail to claim the win. Josh Borton of Crystal followed for second, with David Hilliker, Midland, Logan Arntz, Vestaburg, and Derrick Hilliker of Midland taking the top five positions. Rod Laney of Kawkawlin grabbed the B main, while Zach Olger of St. Johns, VanderVeen, and Tom Dusen of Muskegon topped the heat groups.

Ionia's AJ Ward pulled off another feature win in the Lane Automotive IMCA Modified event. Dan Wiggins II from Fenwick took home second, followed by Mitchell Hunt, Greenville, Brenten DeYoung, Crystal, and Chad Wernette of Sheridan rounding out the top five. Heats fell to Nick Stormzand, Lowell and Myron DeYoung of Stanton.

Jarrett Monk came home with a hotly contested win in the Next Level Graphics & Design LLC Street Stocks, beating out Tyler Brillhart, Crystal, Timothy DeGroft Jr., Carson City, Dustin Weber, Riverdale, and Doug McKeown Sr. of Sidney. Robert White moved on to the feature by winning the B Main. Heats fell to Monk, DeGroft, and McKeown.

The closest race of the night was in the Races On The Web Flinn Stock event where James Bannister f St. Johns nipped Howard City's Rusty Sowles at the line. Sowles had held a decent lead but lost a left front tire with two laps to go. Sowles managed to keep his car running and moving forward only to be caught at the finish by Bannister. Kolby Rohn of Sheridan came home third, followed by Jarred Wonsey, Sumner, and Kyleah Baker of White Cloud. Rohn and Sowles went home with heat wins.

Chris Malek of Alma held on to take the Port City Racer Pro Stock event over Rob Brillhart of Crystal and then Don Rohn of Sheridan. Kyle Hunt of Bannister and Ryan Teeter of Crystal closed out the top five. Rohn grabbed the heat event.

The Engine Pro Pro Truck feature was taken by Curtis Rice of Muskegon, edging out Vestaburg's Ashlee Scott Rob Putt, Fenwick, Kenny Dittenber, Carson City, and Jim Beltz closed out the top five finishers. Paul Grosnickle of Lansing and Jason Omans of Ithaca went home with heat wins.

In the Daily News sponsored Mini-Wedge features, the 6 to 9-year-old division group saw Teegan Williams of Stanton take the win over Mason VanderVeen, Six Lakes, Zayden Buskirk, Crystal, Jazzlyn Hale, Crystal, and Delano Hale of Crystal. Buskirk grabbed the heat event.

In the 10 to 14-year-old event, Wayland's Thomas Parker pulled off a feature win over Andrew Bogart, Howard City, Brent Wonch, Stanton, Lilyann Montgomery, Crystal, Bryant VanderMark, Greenville, and Zayden Olger of St. Johns. Parker also picked up the heat event.
